Young People

There are numerous opportunities for young people at Cambridge:

The Hub is a music making area for young people which will have a series of workshops on Friday, Saturday and Sunday plus sessions throughout the Festival. Details of artist names and workshop content can be found the artist section of this website under The Hub youth area.

The Festival runs a Young Musicians Competition, offering a limited number of free tickets for 11-18 year olds to attend the festival, take part in workshops and even perform as part of The Hub Band in the Club Tent. The Young Musicians Competition is supported by the English Folk Dance & Song Society (EFDSS).

Many young bands appear at the Festival. If you are a young musician attending the Festival, why not sign up to appear in the Club Tent, our open stage? This has been the launch pad for many young artists including Seth Lakeman and Rachel Unthank. To find out more have a look at the Areas section of this website under the heading Club Tent.

Good news for 14 & 15 year olds! The ages maximum age of children's ticket has been extended from 13 to 15.

For those aged 9-13 there is equipment and activities, some of which will be supervised, beside the crèche. Please note that this area requires parents to be responsible for their children at all times. A daily timetable will be provided with all activities for the day. There may be a nominal charge for workshop materials.
